SaferSea

Product description

The position and current condition of the transported assets is relevant for many parties in the supply chain. This includes acceleration information that provides information about the handling of the goods during transportation. An event system alerts if a certain threshold is exceeded, for example, in the event of strong shocks or deacceleration due to braking. This results in easier traceability of claims for damages and the ability to find the party responsible for the damage. In addition, transported goods by sea are sometimes exposed to strong storms, which can lead to the failure of safety mechanisms and parts of the ship's cargo to go overboard. These losses at sea are, on the one hand, harmful to the environment (dangerous goods) and, on the other hand, sometimes pose a risk of collision for other ships, e.g., due to drifting containers.

In this sense, the SaferSea product comprises a configurable continuous localization during transport with simultaneous condition monitoring. The position and condition data are transmitted wirelessly on land and sea. Additionally, during the transport on ship, the system is also responsible for detecting a loss or fall into the water. In this case it is irrelevant whether the goods are still floating on the sea surface or whether they have partially or completely sunk. Localization is possible up to a water depth of 1,000 m .
